Visit of students from German Academic Scholarship Foundation

On the 15th of April, IEMS hosted a group of 25 students holding a scholarship from German Academic Scholarship Foundation (The Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes) as part of their educational visit to Moscow to learn about Russia’s policy, economy, business as well as history and culture. Oleg Remyga, Head of China Studies Lab, gave a presentation on Russia’s pivot to the East, while Ekaterina Molchanova, Head of Global Strategy Studies, spoke about emerging Russian mid-size firms conquering local and global markets.

How leaders in forest industry and NGOs develop talents?
Monday, 11 April 2016On April 11 SKOLKOVO Sustainable Business Lab held a section on "Talent development in forest industry" within the VII Conference of the Association of "NWG" FSC. The event gathered representatives of Russian and foreign industrial companies, as well as NGOs in Russia and CIS countries. Among the speakers at the section were Denis Popov, Head of forest certification and environment department at Mondi Syktyvkar, Nikolay Shmatkov, Head of WWF-Russia's Forest Programme, Evgeny Zabubenin, Forestry Manager at IKEA TORG and Irina Kovtun, specialist on certification of wood procurement department at International Paper. Whithin the event participants shared their experiences on the engagement and development of talented specialists and discussed prospects for the development of Russian forest industry.

Monday, 11 April 201611 апреля Лаборатория устойчивого развития бизнеса СКОЛКОВО провела секцию "Развитие талантов в лесной индустрии" в рамках VII Конференции Ассоциации "НРГ" FSC. Мероприятие собрало представителей российских и зарубежных отраслевых компаний, а также НКО России и стран СНГ. В числе спикеров на секции выступили Денис Попов, руководитель группы сертификации и экологии отдела лесопользования ОАО «Монди СЛПК», Николай Шматков, руководитель Лесной программы WWF-Россия, Евгений Забубенин, менеджер по лесным ресурсам IKEA Russia и Ирина Ковтун, специалист по сертификации департамента лесообеспечения International Paper. В рамках меропритяия участники поделились своим опытом по привлечению и развитию молодых талантливых специалистов, а также обсудили перспективы развития лесной отрасли России.

Rspected scientists, analysts, and representatives of federal governmental agencies to discuss the most burning issues of security in Northeast Asia, prospects for economic cooperation between Moscow and Beijing, and an increase in goods exchange.

In his presentation he highlighted that as the economic activity increasingly shifts to the emerging world, firms from the developing economies have a lot to offer to the current management practice. Unlike in the developed world, where management is largely a response to market challenges with relatively clear rules of the game, in emerging markets – management is also an ability to navigate amidst institutional, infrastructural, and informational deficiencies of the local business environment.

Tuesday, 15 March 2016On March 15, SKOLKOVO Sustainable Business Lab and WWF Russia as a part of the international Earth Hour campaign have conducted a joint event Responsible Consumer: Catch me if You Can. Speakers from Russian and global companies, including IKEA, SPLAT, Coccobello, Opticom, Megapolisresource, Domovenok, Delovaya Sreda, Unilever, Ecobureau Greens, Impact Hub have presented their business cases and products aimed at responsible consumers. Participants and experts have discussed barriers that hamper penetration of responsible consumption in Russia and how they can be addressed.
