During the panel ""Rethinking Management: A East-West Conversation"" Mr. Sharonov shared insights of SKOLKOVO IEMS’ current project on “Global Strategies of Chinese and Russian Mid-size Firms”. In his presentation he highlighted that as the economic activity increasingly shifts to the emerging world, firms from the developing economies have a lot to offer to the current management practice. Unlike in the developed world, where management is largely a response to market challenges with relatively clear rules of the game, in emerging markets – management is also an ability to navigate amidst institutional, infrastructural, and informational deficiencies of the local business environment.
Also Mr. Sharonov participated in the panel “New Approaches in the Russian Economy: localization and innovation”. During this session, participants discussed the issues of developing domestic production in Russian and business opportunities arising in the time of digital revolution. Special attention was given to developing potential for collaborating in Russia and China’s innovative and entrepreneurial sectors.
