China Institute of International Studies organized a Think Tank Forum on the prospects for coherence of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the Silk Road Economic Belt on September 21-23, 2015. Chinese government officials and experts participated in the event along with delegations of experts from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan and representatives from their embassies. Oleg Remga, Head of IEMS China Studies Lab, apoke at the event in the team of Russian experts.
Forum participants discussed political and legal framework of coherence, the meaning of the term “coherence”, role of this initiative in the world order, key directions for coherence of the EEU and the Silk Road Economic Belt, obstacles and threats for the coherence.
