This report is dedicated to experience of German Mittelstand companies as the example of medium-sized companies that gained success in the global market. Mittelstand companies offer an alternative model of management, when long-term performance is preferred to short-term results, while growth is made possible by narrow specialization and international expansion. The example of Mittelstand companies shows that not only large companies but also smaller firms can benefit from globalization and succeed in working abroad.
